We asked two APA Travel Awardees what they were most looking forward to at this year's APA conference in Washington, D.C.:
Sydney Lozada, B.S., M.A.
I am incredibly excited to learn about how research informs clinical & mental counseling in marginalized populations. I plan on attending talks that are focused on treatment intervention & prevention strategies that can be implemented in our communities. I look forward to presenting (for the first time!) my poster at the NIDA/NIAAA Early Career Investigator Travel Award Poster Session.
Rachel Girard, B.A.
This will be my first APA conference! I’m looking forward to connecting with fellow Division 50 members and learning more about the important research they are engaging in and exploring opportunities for collaboration. I’m also very excited about the workshops being offered and hope to explore the city.
Resources are available for those struggling with addiction and numerous effective treatments exist. Whether you are looking for help for yourself or a loved one, we encourage you to seek out help.
