Division 50, the Society of Addiction Psychology, is delighted to present the first in a projected series of Case Presentations!
As requested by division members, the Outreach and Dissemination and the Education Committees of Division 50 are collaborating to provide case presentations to the division approximately six times per year. In this series, cases will be presented and discussed by two SoAP members with clinical experience in treating problematic substance use. Comments and questions from participants will be fielded by the case presenter and the moderator/disscussant.
This initial presentation will feature Mark Schenker, PhD as case presenter with Nancy Haug, PhD as the moderator/discussant. Dr. Schenker will present a case involving the long term outpatient treatment of a successful professional with problematic alcohol use who is requesting letters for related legal problems.
Dr. Schenker is former Member-at-Large for Practice on the SoAP Board of Directors. He received a Presidential Citation from SoAP in 2017 and is the author of the chapter “Addiction Treatment Programs” in the 2016 APA Handbook of Clinical Psychology. He maintains a clinical practice in the Philadelphia area.
Dr. Haug is the current Division 50 Member-at-Large for Practice, a member of the APA Ethics Committee and a Professor of Psychology at Palo Alto University. She sees clients with addictive disorders in the San Francisco Bay area and via telehealth.
This Case Presentation will be held on Friday, June 9 th , 2023 at 1:00PM Eastern Time, via Zoom. All are invited to attend. There are no CE credits offered, but education and an enjoyable time is guaranteed to all participants!
