VA Interprofessional Advanced Fellowship in Addiction Treatment

The VA Interprofessional Advanced Fellowship in Addiction Treatment provides two years of research, education, and clinical learning opportunities to eligible physicians and associated health professionals at the doctoral (psychologists, pharmacists, nurses) and master’s level (social workers, chaplains). Fellows spend 75 percent of their time in scholarly activities focused on reducing the burden of alcohol and other drug use in the Veteran population (e.g., research, QI, program development and evaluation, education) and up to 25 percent providing clinical addiction care. Mentors of national stature provide guidance to fellows in rich learning environments at one of seven VA sites (Boston, MA; Madison, WI; Dallas, TX; Pittsburgh, PA; San Antonio, TX; San Diego, CA; West Haven, CT).
