The Ethics Code Task Force (ECTF) thanks those individuals and groups who submitted comments on the revised draft of the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct.
The ECTF received more than 2,650 comments from a broad range of contributors, including psychologists, graduate students, professional organizations, and members of the public. These comments reflected perspectives from psychologists working in diverse areas, such as academia, research, consulting, government, independent practice, and integrative health care systems. Sixty-six separate groups commented on the draft.
The ECTF is in the process of reviewing the submitted comments and revising the draft. Over the coming months, the Task Force will carefully evaluate each comment to determine how it will be addressed or may be integrated into the next version. This comprehensive review process is expected to be completed in late 2025 or early 2026. A new draft is anticipated to be available for public comment after that process.
Meeting minutes and ongoing updates about the ECTF’s work will be posted on the Task Force website: https://www.apa.org/ethics/task-force.
