Position Description:

The Addictive Disorders and Recovery Studies program in the Department of Community, Family and Addiction Sciences at Texas Tech University seeks an energetic faculty member to join a growing program. The preferred applicant must be an active leader in the profession and have extensive experience in online development and teaching and must be committed to the highest standards of scholarship and professional activities and to the development of a campus climate that supports equality and diversity. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a full load of undergraduate courses, advise undergraduate students minoring in ADRS, build and maintain all ADRS online courses, and liaison with instructors teaching sections of the online ADRS courses. Additionally, a successful candidate will provide community education about addiction, recovery and treatment and participate in community and campus-based committees. The preferred applicant must have experience in working with the Lubbock addiction recovery/prevention community. 

Minimum Qualifications and Responsibilities: 

 

Assistant Professor of Practice:  Doctorate related to family systems with coursework in addition recovery. Knowledge is current in the addiction and recovery field, including assessment, prevention and treatment. Record of experience working in the addiction and recovery field, with a focus on assessment and treatment. Proficient experience in teaching online classes in higher education. Proficient knowledge in blackboard, adobe video express, pdf, etc. Experience in the process of developing and maintaining an online course. Understanding of compliance for online course (ADA, etc) and ability to manage teaching a course load of 4 classes a semester in addition to other administrative duties. Ability to apply knowledge and expertise in community settings. (Example: active clinical licensure with community counseling experience). Experience teaching other ADRS course topics.
