The USC Institute for Addiction Science Master of Addiction Science (MAS) program is now accepting applications for Fall 2023. The MAS is a transdisciplinary and inter-professional degree with courses led by instructors from various areas of academics, including Public Health, Psychology, Pharmacy, Social Work, Neuroscience, Health Policy, Education, and Medicine.
Through interacting with instructors and peers from various disciplines and professions, MAS students develop a broader and deeper understanding of addiction’s causes, consequences, and solutions—consistent with a cell to society perspective. Courses take a multi-layered approach, recognizing that addictive behaviors intersect with human biology and psychology and exist within a complex environment involving the healthcare system and various commercial-economic, political, cultural, and social forces.
The MAS has three tracks:
Cross-track fertilization is available for students wishing for both clinical and research experiences.
