The Deans of the Colleges of Education and Human Development and Arts and Sciences at the University of Louisville have established a dual-appointment position for a tenure-track Assistant Professor. The individual will be associated with both the Department of Counseling and Human Development and the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, with the primary appointment being in the Department of Counseling and Human Development. The successful applicant will have knowledge and skills in the areas of Clinical-Community Psychology, have strong research potential, and potential to teach advanced research, psychopathology, personality, community-based, and/or practicum courses.  Though research areas are open it is hoped that the individual will have demonstrated interest in examining substance-related issues and/or suicidality, with strong grant funding possibilities. The Department of Counseling and Human Development coordinates the Cardinal Success program, which offers clinical services to underserved populations, and includes community research and outreach opportunities. The position begins August 1, 2021.
 
Minimum Qualifications
 
An earned doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Clinical-Community Psychology, or a closely related area
Ability to teach advanced research, psychopathology, personality, community-based, and/or practicum courses
Demonstrated record of research productivity and teaching
Evidence of external funding, or strong potential for funding
Licensed or license-eligible
Evidence of successful teaching and potential for graduate student advising
Demonstrated appreciation for diverse and inclusive students
Demonstrated investment in and commitment to training students within a diverse, metropolitan framework
Preferred Qualifications
Research interests demonstrating interest in examining substance-related issues and/or suicidality
Engagement with professional organizations associated with the field
Successful relationship building and research that responds to community partner needs
 
Salary: Competitive, based upon qualifications and experience
Appointment: 10-month with possibility of summer teaching
Beginning Date: August 1, 2021
