The Department of Psychology at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in clinical psychology. We strongly encourage applications from those who will contribute to the diversity of our community.

The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) develop and maintain an active research program that incorporates both undergraduate and graduate students; 2) teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses relevant to clinical psychology; 3) supervise Master’s theses; 4) actively seek and maintain external funding; and 5) participate in service as a good departmental citizen.

Founded in 1899, Texas State University is among the largest universities in Texas with an enrollment of 37,812 students. Designated an Emerging Research University by the State of Texas, Texas State is classified under “Doctoral Universities: Higher Research Activity,” the second-highest designation for research institutions under the Carnegie classification system. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Doctorate in clinical psychology or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment.
  2. Scholarship productivity and record of excellence in scholarly publications (evaluated in relation to time of completion of the doctoral degree).
  3. Evidence of, or potential for, incorporating students into the research program.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and cultural sensitivity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Specialization in child/adolescent psychology or neuropsychology (although all specializations in clinical psychology will be considered).
  2. Evidence of, or potential for, securing external research funding.
  3. Quality collegiate teaching experience.
  4. Licensed or license eligible.
