Annual meeting of INEBRIA in San Francisco

News Date: Monday, March 24, 2025 - 12:45

Hi All,

I wanted to bring your attention to the call for abstracts for the International Network on Brief Interventions for Alcohol and Other Drugs (INEBRIA), which is being jointly hosted by the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research, in San Francisco on September 24-26, 2025. For those who may not be familiar, the aim of INEBRIA is to provide global leadership in the development, evaluation and implementation of evidence-based practice in the area of early identification and brief intervention for hazardous and harmful substance use. The annual meeting is an outstanding opportunity to connect with colleagues conducting substance use screening and intervention research internationally.

The 2025 conference will include the breadth and depth of screening and brief intervention (SBI) research, extending traditional models to incorporate innovative approaches to outreach and delivery of interventions outside of health care settings to reach new populations. It will include a strong focus on SBI research and implementation in low- and middle-income countries as well as low-resource settings in high-income countries. A featured presenter this year is Dr. William Miller, who will deliver the annual Nick Heather lecture.

Abstracts are due March 31, 2025. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. Thanks,

Derek
