Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Department of Psychology in the College of Science and Engineering at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2025.
The department is seeking a candidate that will contribute to theoretically grounded, foundational research in social or cognitive psychology, broadly defined. We particularly welcome applicants whose work emphasizes advanced quantitative methods (e.g., structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling, computational approaches, or network analyses).
Excellent candidates will develop a productive research program that will be highly competitive for external funding and provide training opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate students. Candidates should be prepared to teach core social, cognitive, or quantitative psychology courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Tenure and promotion requirements include evidence of a strong independent research program, excellence in teaching and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, and service activities at the departmental, university, and discipline levels.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Psychology prior to August 2025.
Candidates that will be ABD after August 2025 will not be considered.
