News Date: Saturday, September 7, 2019 - 15:45

The Society of Addiction Psychology (APA Division 50) is seeking interested Early Career Psychologists to run for the division's first Early Career Psychologist (ECP) Member-At-Large position. This position will be selected through a special election within the next several weeks. The ECP Member-At-Large is an elected position on the Executive Board.

If interested in running for ECP Member-At-Large in this special election, please contact Lauren Hoffman, Chair of the Nominations and Elections committee, at lhoffman1@mgh.harvard.edu. Please be prepared to provide a brief position statement (250 word maximum) which will ultimately be presented publicly, to help membership decide on the candidate they would like to vote for. Eligibility and position details are outlined below. Deadline for applications is September 16, 2019.

Eligibility: APA and Division 50 members who have received their PhD within the past 8 years (so as to still be an ECP through the end of the term).

Term: The elected ECP will serve a two-year term, effective immediately upon being elected, and ending after the 2021 APA Convention.

Duties: The representative will participate in monthly conference calls with the Executive Board, contribute to the division’s quarterly digital newsletter (The SoAP Box), attend annual APA and Collaborative Perspective on Addiction (CPA) meetings, serve as a liaison between Division 50 and the ECP network, and assist in the management of various other Division 50 committees and activities.
