This post is on behalf of members of APA’s Division 50: Society of Addiction Psychology, Education and Training Committee. We are inviting doctoral students in APA accredited doctoral programs in clinical, counseling, school and combined psychology to participate in our survey. Our goal with this survey is to gain an understanding of training opportunities available for doctoral students interested in addiction. We would appreciate it if you would be willing to complete a brief 10-15 minute survey linked here: https://usmep.co1.qualtrics.
The survey includes questions about the types of coursework, supervision, and other training opportunities that may be available to students in their doctoral programs. Participation in this study is completely voluntary and you may choose to skip questions. The information you provide is confidential. We are aiming to aggregate, summarize, and make the data available on the Division 50 website. The information collected may also be used for other purposes, such as presentations at professional meetings or publication. Information used for such purposes will be de-identified and published in aggregate form; no names of programs or individuals will be included.
Please note this project has received IRB approval (#IRB-19-4) from The University of Southern Mississippi Institutional Review Board.
Questions concerning the research should be directed to the primary investigators Dr. Jessica Martin (jlmartin@albany.edu) or Dr. Michael Madson (michael.madson@usm.edu). Any questions or concerns about rights as a research participant should be directed to the Chair of the Institutional Review Board at (601) 266-5997.
Resources are available for those struggling with addiction and numerous effective treatments exist. Whether you are looking for help for yourself or a loved one, we encourage you to seek out help.
