POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN SLEEP PSYCHOLOGY/BEHAVIORAL SLEEP MEDICINE
 
Position:  Postdoctoral Research Fellowship: The Sleep Research Lab in the Department of Psychiatry in the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia (http://medicine.missouri.edu ) has an opening for a one-year research postdoctoral fellow (with potential re-appointment for 1 more year)

Setting: The University of Missouri-Columbia, the first public university west of the Mississippi River, is a major land-grant institution and Missouri's largest public research university. Cost of living in Columbia and surrounding areas is very reasonable.
 
Primary Activities: This postdoctoral fellowship will provide a variety of clinical research experiences relevant to sleep psychology/behavioral sleep medicine. Fellows will have the opportunity to become involved in archival data analysis/manuscript preparation as well as ongoing studies examining sleep and its correlates (e.g., cognition, pain, brain structure and function, stress, mood, BMI) in individuals with autism, chronic pain, and/or obesity. A major emphasis of the research will be on the impact of improved sleep on those correlates. Specific duties will include conducting ongoing projects, analyzing sleep and other data, developing and conducting future studies, manuscript and grant preparation, and management of research assistants. The most successful applicants will have a demonstrated interest in pursuing publication and grant opportunities. Experience with polysomnography, actigraphy, neuroimaging, and/or cognitive behavioral/behavioral approaches to treating insomnia and other sleep disorders is highly desirable, but training will also be provided as needed. Opportunities to engage in clinical activities to obtain supervised hours for licensure as well as supervised hours relevant for certification in behavioral sleep medicine can also be provided. 
 
Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology or a related field, demonstrate strong potential for a career in clinical research, and have substantial experience in sleep psychology, behavioral sleep medicine, health psychology/behavioral medicine, or a related field.
 
Salary & Benefits: This position has an annual full-time salary of $47, 476 plus benefits.
