Postdoctoral and Predoctoral Fellowships for Research Training in Alcohol Problems and Alcohol-Related Disparities

News Date: Monday, August 20, 2018 - 09:45

The Alcohol Research Group, in association with the School of Public Health, University of California, Berkeley, is currently accepting applications for two-year postdoctoral and predoctoral fellowships sponsored by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) for research training in alcohol studies.

Fellowships at ARG provide research training in the study of alcohol use and problems, and are oriented toward the pursuit of basic and applied socio-behavioral and epidemiological research.  Training focuses specifically on study of the prevalence, distribution, etiology, and treatment (both formal and informal) of alcohol use disorders and related problems.  Some focus is also devoted to drug use and drug-related problems.  Health disparities are a central theme of both our training program and ARG broadly.

Current annual stipends for postdocs range from $48,432 to $53,184.  Postdocs also receive UCB benefits and travel funds are provided.  Additional employment is often available.  Current annual stipends for predocs are $24,324, and we provide partial tuition and health coverage, as well as travel funds.

Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident in order to apply.  Please visit our website at www.arg.org/training for more information about our program and how to apply.

Applications must be received by December 31, 2018, to be considered for a start date between June 2019 and May 2020.
