Post-doctoral Research Position at the Yale Center for Health and Learning Games

The play2PREVENT (p2P) Lab at the Yale Center for Health and Learning Games is offering an opportunity for at least a 1-year post-doctoral research position--to begin June 2018--in our videogame research Lab at the Yale University School of Medicine that focuses on the development and evaluation of behavioral and health games, including videogame and VR game interventions. 

The p2P Lab is supported by NIH and foundation funding and currently is developing and evaluating games focused on HIV prevention, HIV testing and counseling, smoking and e-cigarette prevention, opioid prevention, and school climate and emotional intelligence.

This is a unique opportunity for individuals interested in working with a multi-disciplinary team and to gain research training using technology and videogames to promote positive adolescent health and behavior.

Eligibility: An individual is eligible for the position if they have a doctoral level degree in the areas of health, medicine, behavioral, or cognitive psychology, Public Health or a relevant area.

Responsibilities: The Postdoctoral Associate will participate in research activities involving the development and evaluation of videogame interventions that focus on behavior change, health, social impact, and education. Responsibilities include: conceptualization and development of video game content material, recruiting research participants for focus groups and playtesting, overseeing gameplay sessions, assisting in focus group discussions, collection of and data management, data analysis, writing up study results, and presenting findings at local and national meetings/conferences. Flexible hours; may be required to work some evenings or weekends.
