News Date: Tuesday, April 24, 2018 - 14:00

For those of you planning on attending RSA in June in beautiful San Diego, there is a free satellite conference on the Saturday which is marking the 25thanniversary of the NIAAA-supported monograph on Alcoholics Anonymous research (McCrady and Miller, 1993). This satellite conference will present overviews of the science on AA and related Twelve-Step Facilitation interventions conducted during the past 25 years, including efficacy, effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and mechanisms of behavior change research. New research on 12-step alternatives (e.g., SMART Recovery, LifeRing, Women for Sobriety) also will be featured.

There is an All-Star lineup of scientists, including NIAAA Director George Koob who will be giving the opening remarks. Co-Chairs are Scott Tonigan and Division 50 past president John Kelly.
