VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle Division is pleased to be accepting applications for our CESATE Interprofessional Fellowship in Substance Addiction Treatment. Two first-year psychology fellow positions are available as part of the larger APA accredited Psychology Postdoctoral Training program located at VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle Division.
Our fellowship emphasizes the interprofessional treatment of substance use disorders in conjunction with the Seattle VA's national Center of Excellence in Substance Addiction Treatment and Education (CESATE). The fellow will spend approximately 60-80% time working within interprofessional teams providing evidence-based treatments and practices to Veterans with a variety of addictive disorders. Additional time is devoted to clinical research, program development and didactic seminars. For instance, fellows may use up to 20% of their time to pursue research or quality improvement projects. Fellows with academic aspirations and a history of research productivity may be granted additional time to pursue research-related activities. The duration of the CESATE fellowship is one year. The possibility of a renewal for a second year, following completion of the accredited fellowship, can be considered for fellows with further advanced goals in clinical research, administration, and/or education.
Regardless of the focus area chosen, all fellows attain advanced skills and knowledge in a common core of professional domains, including ethics and professional standards, cultural diversity and individual differences, research strategies, assessment and intervention, teaching and supervision, interprofessional consultation, and professional development. Training occurs within a Scientist-Practitioner framework, within a University-affiliated and academically-oriented healthcare environment.
The first-year stipend for each position is $49,994. Health insurance is provided. Eligible candidates must be U.S. citizens and must have completed a doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, including a doctoral internship, from APA-accredited programs.
