Research Scientist Position
Butler Center for Research, part of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation
Center City, MN
The Research Scientist will apply advanced statistical, scientific and technical expertise to implement clinical and institutional research projects to advance the mission of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. Disseminate results through verbal and/or written reports, white papers, scholarly publications and conference presentations. Supervise the work of Research Assistants and other staff, as assigned. Serve as a research faculty member within the Graduate School, participating in committees and teams, as assigned, and teaching the research course.

Conduct research projects to fulfill the organization’s strategic and operational goals

Secure funding to support research

Report, publish, present, and disseminate research results

Provide leadership and supervision to Research Assistants and other research department staff to ensure that all projects proceed in a timely and efficient manner

Collaborate with other internal and/or external researchers

Serve as a research faculty member in the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies

Assure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, guests and visitors. Maintain privacy, security, and confidentiality for all patients (past and present, based on federal and state regulations and Hazelden policies
Required Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in clinical psychology or related field completed within a scientist or scientist practitioner program

Completed doctoral level coursework in research design, methodology, and advanced statistics

Minimum of 2 years of psychosocial treatment research activity

Excellent written and verbal skills
