APA Div 28 - Student Travel Award Available for Undergraduates Interested in Psychopharmacology and Substance Use Studies

News Date: Wednesday, February 6, 2019 - 09:00

If you have undergraduates who are interested in psychopharmacology and substance use studies, make sure to pass along this information on a studen travel award through Division 28.  Deadline is Feb. 18, 2019 (not 2018, but 2019 - it's still running!). One year of APA membership and conference registration would be covered. This is a great opportunity to build a strong CV very early on in one's career.

Application Instructions:

The Division 28 APA Convention Undergraduate Scholarship provides undergraduate psychology majors (or those in related disciplines) the opportunity to attend APA convention. Cost of one year of APA membership and convention registration are covered for each student. They are also invited to join Division 28 members for poster sessions, symposia, and any special programming that's tailored for early career psychologists and student affiliates. This experience is designed to provide students an opportunity to see and discuss ongoing research in the areas of psychopharmacology and substance abuse, as well as to connect with potential new colleagues and learn about potential graduate programs for their next step.

Description: The award includes (1) APA membership for 1 year and (2) registration for the 2019 APA Convention.

Eligibility: Qualified applicants are those that are: (1) enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, (2) have demonstrated an interest in research related to psychopharmacology or substance abuse, and (3) are able to attend the 2019 Convention in Chicago, Illinois from August 8th to 11th.

How to apply: Interested students should submit applications by email to Amy Stamates (astam007@odu.edu). Complete applications should include:

Complete applications must be submitted on or before February 18th, 2018 in order to be considered. For further inquiries, e-mail Amy Stamates (astam007@odu.edu). Applicants will be notified in late February as to award status.
